The National Organization for Women is a feminist organization founded in 1966 is an ardent supporter of what they call “abortion care”.
They had a small presence at this year’s March for Life in Washington D.C. an annual pro-life, anti-abortion, march that takes place on the date that Roe v. Wade was handed down by the Supreme Court making abortion legal in all fifty states for any reason.
CNN quoted NOW’s president in their article:
“A fetus is not a life, sorry,” NOW President Terry O’Neill told CNN. “And no, nobody’s religious conviction justifies taking women’s ability to shape their own futures away from them.”
A fetus is not a life? Well, because she says it, it must be so. And yet the question screams in the background of such a loaded statement, what about baby women in the womb?
It would seem apparent from NOW’s 1998 Declaration of Sentiments that they would stand in defense of preborn girls, but the only thing apparent is that NOW is a fire-breathing contradiction in terms:
“We are committed to a feminist ideology and reaffirm our historic commitment to gaining equality for women, assuring safe, legal and accessible abortion and full reproductive freedom, combating racism, stopping violence against women, ending bigotry and discrimination based on sexual orientation and on color, ethnicity, national origin, economic status, age, disability, size, childbearing capacity or choices, or parental or marital status.”
Just about everyone knows that abortion violently mutilates little girls. Ever heard of Suction Aspiration (the most common method of abortion when a sharp vacuum tube is inserted into the womb and the child is cut apart and sucked out), or D & C, Dilation and Curettage (the second most common method when the lining of the uterus is scraped out by a razor sharp scooping tool and the child is dismembered in order to be pulled out of the womb)?
How about the kind performed by the late Dr. George Tiller who performed late-term abortions, such as Partial birth abortion and Dilation and Evacuation both equal in their gruesomeness and he did so with a zealotry like few others.
And these troubled days, something like 90% of children simply thought to have Downs Syndrome are killed via abortion.
So much for NOW stopping violence against women and so much for them caring about their size, age, or disabilities.
Try this also:
“We will not trade off the rights of one woman for the advancement of another.”
This is exactly what abortion does. One woman, the older, stronger woman, chooses to have the tiny defenseless woman killed to protect what she wrongly believes are her human rights. It’s the most vile trade off of human rights in the history of the world.
NOW seems to be largely devoted to keeping abortion legal these days. Though they claim a number of other purposes the issue of supporting abortion rights seems to be their main cause and it’s constantly all over their home page.
In time, the horrific contradictions behind this supposed woman’s rights organizations will be it’s downfall, let alone their support for history’s greatest human rights crime, abortion.
